Hobby Links - Part I

Hi, today I'm here with a handful of interesting links related to the hobby, to help the new players on finding resources on the web. They are loosely classified below, so enjoy!

Forums:

Warseer - The most famous Warhammer-related forum in existence, Warseer is the mandatory stop when checking for the latest news and rumours. As a forum itself there are better options now, but the opinions vary.

Heresy Online - I particularly prefer Heresy Online as a general Warhammer 40K/Fantasy forum over the Warseer. Check them both and decide by yourself ;)

Dakka Dakka - Dakka Dakka used to be an Ork forum, I guess, but now it covers Warhammer 40K and Fantasy, Warmachine & Hordes, and other games as well. Worth checking.

Bolter and Chainsword (B&C) - A forum specialized in Space Marines, the best on the web, hands down. There are areas to discuss the Inquisition, Sisters of Battle and Chaos Daemons as well.

Necrontyr Online - That's the main Necron-specific forum on the web.

Warhammer Brasil - That's the main wargaming forum in Portuguese language - it started as a 40K/Fantasy forum, but it now covers basically any wargame played by its members.

Wargame Brasil - This one used to be the main Lord of the Rings miniatures game forum in Brazilian Portuguese, but now they cover everything else. Things are a bit slow there these days.

News Sites:

Tabletop Gaming News - the best news resource for everything related to tabletop gaming - not only miniatures and wargames, but boardgames, RPGs and card games as well.

Blogs:

Bell of the Lost Souls - One of the most famous blogs about 40K (they now cover Warhammer fantasy, Warmachine & Hordes and Flames of War as well). They often post articles about strategy, rumors, fluff and metagaming. They have their own forums as well.

Beasts of War - They are the most famous videolog on the internet, covering every aspect of the miniature wargaming hobby. Definitely recommended.

Campinas At War - This is the blog of my wargaming club. Visit it and leave a comment, if you live at the Campinas/SP region, or plan to visit the area soon. In Portuguese.

The Painting Frog  - This is the blog of our buddy Gereth, from the Warhammer Brasil forum. In English AND Portuguese.

Comics:

Turning Signals on a Land Raider (TSOALR) - One of the oldest serial comic strips based on the 40K universe and hobby, unfortunately, it's (mostly) not updated anymore, since the creator gave up on the project in 2009. There are newer comic strips there from Proxy Wars and FTW, other projects by him, and handful of new TSOALR strips, celebrating the recovery from a website crash in August 2012.

Wobbly Model Syndrome - That's a great, new serial comic strip based on the 40K universe, replacing the TSOALR on the hearts of its orphans. Don't miss the adventures of Borus, the Emperor, and the Too race.

Wikis:

Lexicanum - A great wiki site covering basically all the fluff from Warhammer 40K and Warhammer Fantasy as well.

Warhammer 40K Wiki - That's a Wikia site, covering the Warhammer 40K fluff. A good read together with the Lexicanum, as they complement each other.

Companies:

Games Workshop - Games Workshop (or GW) are the manufacturers of the Warhammer 40K and Warhammer Fantasy Games, as the Lord of the Rings miniature line.

Forgeworld - Forgeworld (or FW) is the "deluxe" line from Games Workshop, presenting special (and higher-priced) miniatures and rules to spice up your games.
